I think that Sexual reproduction is better because not all offspring are identical. Both of them have the bad things and good things about them.  I think that sexual reproduction is better. I think that it is better because first of all you have to carry the baby, you know make it your own. In asexual all offspring are identical and you do not need another person to form an offspring. The bad thing about that is that all your offspring are the same. How are you going to tell them apart? What are you going to feel for them? 
      I think that sexual reproduction is better because this means that the organism is more complex.  That means that it has more capability of doing more things. As a single-celled organism or very simple organism would mean that you may not be able to do the same things the multi-cellular organism can or have each offspring be different. Although you have to carry the  fetus in your uterus for a couple of months, the baby will have originality.
      For me I think that is better than being the same as everyone.  Another bad thing about  sexual reproduction is that you need a male and a female sex cell. So to create offspring you need an egg and sperm to fertilize the egg and to produce offspring. That is not bad though in some cases because there may be 2 adults that will look out for you for a certain time span. You may say that asexual reproduction is better but you do not know everything about i
 
     Last week we dissected a frog in our science class.  Cutting the frog open made me feel like I was a surgeon. I appreciate their job because they help save lives. If it were not for them many people would die of little and very severe things.  With the help of a surgeon people are able to give birth by a c-section, do organ transplants, and even fix bones that are broken or fractured. What would happen if there were no surgeons or if they had so idea what they were doing?
      I think  that if there were no surgeons people would not live as long and they would die of things that could be fixed if only they had a surgery. Knowing where your organs are is very important.  If they did not know they would probably cut the wrong organs out of you and most likely you would die.  If doctors did not try things on different specimens, they would have no idea where your organs were. That is very dangerous because they may confuse you kidneys for your lungs. 
     Now that would be no fun! So, in order to try something new they must test on an animal. Testing would help them prepare them for what they are going to do on a person. I think that it is very important for surgoens to know what they are doing. If not they could be losing many lives. 
 
     It takes a lot of travel for the light to go into our brain. Once it gets to the brain we are able to see the image, that the light was reflected by. First an object reflects light into the atmosphere. Then that light hits our Cornea. After that it goes into our iris. From the Iris it goes directly into the Pupil. As the pupil gets the light, it is passes through our lenses. Our lenses pass down the image or light into the optic nerve. The optic nerve leads to the brain. So since it leads to the brain, the brain now has the light.
    As soon as the brain sees the light it starts forming an image. That image is backwards. So in order to see it the brain has to turn it upside dow, so that we are able to see perfect and clear image. Some  people may not see the image clear by themselves. So they need Glasses. With glasses it is the same process. Only now though you are using an extra lens to see what normally other people see without glasses. 
     This is the way that light enters our eyes, so that we are able to see an image that is there. Consider this the next time you wonder how we are bale to see things! So as soon as the light goes into the optic nerve your brain is getting ready to interpret the light of signal. This is the actual reason we see things. It has to go to this process.
 
    Based on the zoo trip I did not learn many new things about the animal. I already most things about it, so some thins were just like  a review to me. One thing I did not know though was that the Chacoan Peccaries sleep in a big ball next to each other. I had seen it in pictures, but I did not know that that was how they slept. It also surprised me that they were fine not being in the shade, but in their deserty habitant without getting hot. Well at least I do not think they were hot. They were pretty much enjoying the weather.
     Doing the research made me think much better of the animal. I even think they are cute and adorable now. At first I though that they were boring and ugly animals. I though why do we have to do our project on this ugly animal that does not even do anything nice or interesting. Boy was I wrong! I learned as lot of things about it that were interesting. Like that the females usually only have their offspring only once a year. Most mammals have babies about twice or maybe more times per year. 
     Also, I did not know that this animals were endangered. I thought that they were just like pigs. Pigs though are not endangered but these animals are. I did not know that they were hunted for human things. Before I thought they just roamed around being undisturbed, and that only once in a while they hunted for food. I was really wrong about this animal. It is not as bad as it seems. One cool thing about it is that it forms a wall of peccaries when it feels threatened by another animal. It surrounds this animal and attacks. I though this was very interesting. I thought that the zoo trip was fun, and I learned a lot.
   
 
     How does a rainbow form? I bet you have wondered that before. I always use to wonder why there was a rainbow and how it was created. I was asked that question so many times before by little children. The problem is I did not know how to answer then, in fact I did not even know the answer. Now, I do though. Rainbows can only be formed when there is water or rain. Alos there has to be enough of the  sunlight so that it can show.  So rainbows form when  water particles or rain drops act as prisms. 
         The sunlight then hits them, and then magic happens. When those raindrops or water particles are prisms and the sunlight  gets to them, they refract all the colors of ROY G. BIV. You see since the water particles or raindrops are transparent the light colors are bended and all the colors start to appear. That is when a rainbow forms. Rainbows are usually visible after it has rained or even in your back yard when you put the hose in front of the sun.
 
     Last Tuesday I wrote about why I thought they sky was blue. I was pretty close to why it actually is blue. I did research ion this theme. The actual reason is very similiar to what I wrote. The only difference is in the vocabulary that I used.The actual reason the sky is blue is because of light waves. The sky appears to be blue to us because  all the light waves that are in the surface of sky are absorbed except for one. Blue is not absorbed by the surface. Blue is reflected and scattered throughout the whole sky. Since blue is being reflected, those light waves are reflected towards us and then we see blue as the visible color.
    ROY G. BIV. are all the colors that are shown in the sky. As I said before, blue though is not absorbed. So, it is reflects and scattered throughout the whole surface. In this case it scattered all through the sky. Blue is then see only yo our eyes because the rest of color waves are not reflected back to our eyes, therefore we do not see the other color. So, this is th reason we see that the sky is nlue.
 
      Why is the sky blue? That is always a good question that little kids ask and that you yourself sometimes ask. I thought that the sky was blue because of the transparent air. I thought that  the transparent would form some way a blue color. Now, though I think I have the answer. Maybe it is right, or maybe it is wrong. According to what we have learned so far in our science class is what I am basing my opinion as the answer.
    I think that the sky is blue because of the waves of colors. I know that it has something to do with that. I believe that the sky gets all the different waves in the electromagnetic spectrum. So, the sky gets all the different colors in the rainbow which are as follow: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. ( A better way to remember all those colors  as ROY G. BIV. What I am saying that the sky absorbs all these colors, but it only reflects blue. The blue color wave bounces from the sky to our eyes making the color blue be visible. So we see the sky blue because that is the color that is visible to our eyes from the sky. Now I do not know if this is the right answer, but I must have something right. So that is your answer.
 
     Temperate climate fossils have been found in Antartica. Why are they there, if Antartica is now very cold and icy? The explanation is that long ago, Antartica must have been a warm place. How is it possible? It is possible in the theory of Continental Drift. Continental Drift is the action of plate tectonics moving every year about 2-5 centimeter. Both scientists and paleontologists say that all the continents were once together forming a huge continent Pangaea. 
    So regarding to Continental Drift the continents all moved further away from each other causing  Pangea to seperate.
You may be able to find temperate climate fossils in Antartica because of many reasons. One reason may be because there was once a time where all the continents were together. That means that one day a long time ago, there must have been a temperate climate. So, as the years passed and the plate tectonics moved further away from each other, the climate must have gotten colder and colder as it got separated further away more.
      So, I was researching about Antartica, and I found out that Paleontologists have found prove that Antartica might have been next to places that had temperate climates. They think that as the years passed by, the organisms that were of that time must have been left there. Then,sand must have been deposited on top of the dead organisms causing a fossil to form in those  rock layers. If they were trying to find the age of those fossils they could find it easily if it is close to superposition. Superposition is the law that states that if there are undisturbed rock layers then the top layers are the younger ones and the bottom ones are older.
      If this is the case, they would be able to ensure that those fossils were of the time when Antartica was connected with different places. So this is why I think that these fossils were found. I think they were   there because of the time that Antartica had not yet been separated from the big continent there once was!
 
     I know that there have been many great discoveries made in the field of science. One that I like the best is the discovery of our DNA. I think that is the best and greatest discovery in Science, but that is only my opinion. I think this because thanks to that we know why we look like we do. This let's us know why we look how we do based on not only Physical appearances but also genetically  For example You may have brown hair, but you could have two different kinds of traits that make your hair look that way. You may have BB or Bb that means you will have brown hair because the B is dominant. It does not necessarily mean that you will have the same brown colored hair as any of your relatives because there are many different shades in colors and many different traits in your family.
      It also a great discovery because it helps us understand what is what gives us our look and how we are inside of our body. As you may know, the DNA is stored in your cells. Those cells are very important and that is what every organism is made up of. DNA now a days is very important and very well known that some scientists charge about 3 million dollars so that you can decide how your next child will be. They can now go into an egg and change the chromosomes so that you can create a very unique child. It is almost like picking what you want on your sandwich. I personally do not like that because I think that is best for nature to do what it wants and for God to decide that you be a mother or father of a child that was suppose to be created like that and not designed.Therefore,  DNA is the greatest scientific discovery, in my opinion.

 
     In my group I had to do the reproduction page on our animal, the Chacoan Peccary. I researched a lot of information on it. One thing I found out was that it will have a litter size of 1-4 piglets, but it usually have 2-3 piglets. They are usually born during the months  October through November, although litters have been found throughout the whole year. The puppies are very small when they are born, yet they can run with the herd after two hours of their birth.
       I also found out that they are born in these months for a reason. They are planned to be born in this time because this is when there is an abundance of food and when there is rain. These to them is a good time to give birth because they will have the sufficient food, water, and maybe shelter. These animals travel in a herd, and sometimes the males get one or more females pregnant because they do not care for their young at all. The females may have one litter size per year or they may have more if they liked their first litter. 
     Females are the main ones that take of their young. From what I researched, it seemed that the males do not participate in parental care, and they do not do anything for their young except help create them.Chacoan Peccaries are very interesting.
