In most history classes you are learning the same thing except in different forms depending in that specific teacher that you get. In my class we do a lot of simulations, so I heard. Those are like mini plays that help us think or live for a moment as if we were in that era, so those are always fun. During 7th grade we learn mostly about all knids of world history, later when we get older you strt learning about more specific place and their history. Be prepared for the fun of Rome, the love of Islam and the cornell notes you'll get!!

Empress Suiko In this project we were suppose to put ourself in the place of Empress Suiko and express how we felt about being the figurehead of the country. I learned about who Empress Suiko was and what she did. It also helped me feel what she might have felt for being a figurehead. This was to put ourselves in her place and see both the good things and the bad things of being a figurehead for her. I learned a lot about her. This reminds me of a book of stories that had a lot of journal entries. The difference was that the people writing them were truly the ones that had gone through that. In this project though, we were pretending to be that person. GooglemDocs was what we used todo this project, but I transferred it to a presentation because it looked better and the Google Docs do not look good when they are embedded. Both of the tools I used were great and they made my journal entry much better and professional.

Three Ways of Thought In the Google Docs that I used we were suppose to guess who was the person that said the saying that was upon the boards. The teacher put sayings in quotes on the board. What we were suppose to do was try to figure out who said them. The options were to be either Buddha, Confucius, or Lauzi. We then had to right who we thought this quote belonged to and why we thought so. We had to use claim and evidence process. We then wrote what we thought into our documents. After that we had to do as a presentation, so that if we needed it for anything else, it would be easier to use. I learned a lot about these three people and what they thought. Using my knowledge about what they thought is how I figured out most of the sayings.
This is like something we did in Algebra. One day we did a project that was similar to this. We had to get a question from the board. We had to find the answer, explain why it was the answer, and why we did each step that we did. We had to know exactly what to do to get the answer and why we did the following. During this project I used Google Docs and Google Presentation. Both were very effient and very useful. I already know how to use both so it was very easy to do the work. |
Rome Poem In this project we were to write a poem that describes events that happened in Rome. We first vwrote the poem had it corrected, had it typed up and then had a picuture for the background. I choose a temple shown in the right. This was suppose to give us a better understanding of some of the events that happened in Rome so that we would have them fully understood and memorized tha we would do good on our test.
I really did not know anything about Rome. I had heard a lot of people talk about Rome and what it was about even that they really liked it or that that chapter was hard. Before we did this my sister actually talked to me about Rome so I was kind of familiur with it but not fully. In this poem I used Microsoft Word, and Google Docs . I first typed my poem in Google Docs to see if I had any mistakes or errors. Then I used Microsoft Word so that I was able to type it in a good form and correctly and so that I was able to see the picture that I chose for my backgtound. Both of them really helped me so that I was able to get a perfect score on it. |
